Sligo Tourist Development Association
Rosses Point & Strandhill Caravan & Camping Parks are owned and operated by the Sligo Tourist Development Association (STDA).
The STDA was originally founded back in the early 1950’s. Members of the Sligo Business Community wanted to establish an organisation with a specific remit for tourism in Sligo. This was before the National Tourism Development Authority, Fáilte Ireland, was established in 1955 as ‘Bord Failte Eireann’.
The STDA subsequently purchased two sites where they opened up Strandhill Caravan & Camping Park and Rosses Point (Greenlands) Caravan & Camping Park. The STDA continues to operate these parks today with all profits being reinvested in local tourism projects, businesses and community initiatives.

Today, there are fifteen voluntary board members who make up the STDA. All are local residents, public & private professionals and local business owners who share a collective interest in improving and promoting the tourism offering in Sligo and the North West.
The Campsites
The campsites currently employ two permanent full-time staff and sixteen seasonal full-time staff as well as supporting a multitude of local businesses, suppliers & tradespeople. Each year, we welcome 10,000 visitors to Sligo between the months of April & September. Both campsites are members of the Irish Caravan & Camping Council, are registered with Fáilte Ireland and bear the Welcome Standards that Ireland’s hospitality is known for the world over.
